Operation

• Power On: Press insert coin button OR insert coin into slot.
• Power Off: Hold insert coin button for 3 seconds.
• Auto Power Off: Cube will also auto power down after 4 hours.
• Volume & Sounds: Press left button on back to adjust volume (5 levels with mute). To play sounds, press the insert coin button or insert a coin. Coin auto returns. If stuck, shake gently. Designed for U.S. quarters & included token.
• Brightness: Press right button on back to adjust (5 levels including fully off).
• Battery Charging: The cube is powered by an internal rechargeable battery or USB-C connection on back of cube. The USB-C connection will also charge the internal battery.

 

Charging 

1. Connect the included USB-C cable to a USB power adapter or USB port. The USB port should be able to supply 5V at 600mA or more. 
2. The red light on the back of the cube will illuminate while charging and turn off when fully charged.
3. If you experience issues with charging or operation when connected to USB-C try using another charger or a different cable. Verify that the charging indicator light illuminates. 
4. Average charging time: 2–3 hours for a full charge.

 

 

Use and Care: 

• Your cube has a high quality matte exterior finish. Be aware that it is easy to scratch this finish and that gentle handling is best.
• The cube is not waterproof. You can clean it gently with a lint free wet rag. Don’t get water inside the cube or charging port.
• Don't store your cube in areas with constant high heat, high humidity or direct sunlight.
• Don’t charge if the cube is below freezing 32F (0C) or above 120F (50C).
• Feel free to leave it permanently attached to a USB-C charger or take it on the go. It's meant to be mobile or stationary. 
• If you have issues with the cube rebooting or functioning improperly this is almost always due to a “noisy” USB charger or a bad cable. Try another cable and USB charger and please read the troubleshooting section if you continue to have issues.
• Don’t mishandle or drop cube or damage may result.
• Charge the cube fully at least once every 6 months to maintain battery health.
• It is recommended to fully charge the cube prior to long term storage for best battery health.

  • Low Brightness: Approx 24 hours
  • Medium Brightness: Approx 12 hours
  • High Brightness: Approx 5 hours (we recommend using USB power for high brightness mode due to the short battery life)
• Charging Time: 2-3 hours from 0% to 100%
• Input Power Requirements:
  • USB-C charging port
  • Power: USB Charger 5V @ 600mA or more
  • It is recommended to use a high quality USB charger with a rating of 5W or more. Unfortunately some chargers and cables do not supply clean power and may cause the cube to reboot or function improperly. It is recommended to try a different charger and use the included cable if the device appears to reboot or have any other malfunctions. See the troubleshooting section of the manual for more information.

 

Warranty:

• Your cube is handmade in our Colorado, USA studio. We make every effort to make sure we engineer, craft, and deliver to you the best product possible. Your product has a 1 year warranty against any manufacturing defects or functionality issues from the date of purchase. If there is a manufacturing defect or functionality issue please contact us directly using our email info@chronicconcepts.com with a description of your defect and proof of purchase date. We care about our customers and we will make every effort to resolve your issue.

 

Troubleshooting:

• The coin didn’t return!
  • If a coin gets stuck inside simply shake or tilt the cube and it will come right out.
• What coins are acceptable?
  • The included token or a US quarter work best.  Smaller coins also usually work. Don’t force a large coin in. Don’t put sticky or dirty coins in.
• My cube is illuminated but has no sound.
  • Do you have it set on mute? Press the volume button on the back of the cube multiple times until the volume level is acceptable. Then try again.
• My cube won’t turn on!
  • Briefly press the main insert coin button.
  • Now try pressing the buttons on the back side of the cube for brightness and volume. The cube isn't off but is simply set on light off mode or volume mute mode. 
• My cube makes sound but is not illuminated.
  • Do you have it set on “lights off” mode? Try pressing the brightness button on the back of the cube until the brightness is acceptable.
• My cube acts weird, malfunctions, reboots, or makes improper sounds when it is charging.
  • Does the cube work properly when it is charged and running on battery power? This is a dead giveaway that you have a “noisy” charger or bad charging cable.
  • Unfortunately some chargers and cables do not supply clean power and may cause the cube to reboot or function improperly. It is recommended to try a different charger and use the included cable if the device appears to reboot or have any other malfunctions. It is recommended to use a high quality USB charger with a rating of 5W or more.
• My cube has a sticky button.
  • Try gently tapping on the button or the cube itself to free the button. It is quite durable. If the problem persists please send us an email and we will resolve your issue.
• My cube won't charge or appears to be totally dead.
  • Verify that the red light near the charging port illuminates when you plug in the charging cable.

• Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, or dispose of in fire or water.
• Do not expose to temperatures above 50 °C (120 °F).
• Charge only using a 5V USB charger with a 5W or higher rating.
• Stop using immediately if the battery swells, leaks, or emits an unusual odor.
• Keep away from children.

Disposal: Dispose of used batteries responsibly. Do not throw in household trash. Take to an authorized recycling or collection facility per local regulations.

Caution: Risk of fire, explosion, or burns if mishandled. Battery is not user-replaceable.
