More Than an Arcade Button: Meet the TinyBrights Insert Coin Cube Gen 2

More Than an Arcade Button: Meet the TinyBrights Insert Coin Cube Gen 2

Sometimes the smallest things bring back the best memories.

The sound of a coin dropping into an arcade machine. The glow of an INSERT COIN TO PLAY button. Standing around a cabinet with friends waiting for your turn.

The TinyBrights Insert Coin Cube Gen 2 was designed to bring a little piece of that experience into your desk, game room, office, arcade setup, or shelf.

At its simplest, it’s an interactive arcade collectible you can press, light up, make sounds, and actually drop coins through.

But Gen 2 can do a whole lot more.

An Interactive Collectible Made to Be Used

We like collectibles that look good on display. We like them even more when you can actually interact with them.

Press the illuminated INSERT COIN TO PLAY button. Drop an included arcade token or standard U.S. quarter through the working coin slot. Hear the sounds. Adjust the lighting. Customize the experience.

You can keep it on your desk simply because it reminds you of the arcade.

Or you can put its more advanced features to work.

That's the idea behind Gen 2: display it, interact with it, customize it or make it part of your setup.

Turn a Button Press Into a Keyboard Command

One of Gen 2's biggest additions is USB keyboard emulation.

That sounds technical. What it actually means is pretty simple:

Your Insert Coin Cube can act like a keyboard input.

Connect the Cube to your computer through USB and assign the front button and coin slot their own keyboard keys.

Press the INSERT COIN button, and the Cube sends the keyboard command you selected.

Drop a coin through the slot, and it can send another.

That means you can use the Cube to:

  • Add credits to an emulator
  • Start a game or trigger a control
  • Create a dedicated push-to-talk button
  • Trigger keyboard shortcuts
  • Assign commands for PC gaming
  • Create your own custom uses

Instead of reaching for a keyboard key to add another arcade credit, you can actually drop in a coin.

Make It a Functional Part of Your Arcade or Gaming Setup

Gen 2 also includes a completely separate feature: external button emulation.

This isn't USB keyboard emulation.

It's a dedicated hard-wired capability that allows the Cube itself to become a physical control for compatible hardware.

That opens up possibilities for arcade builders, gamers, makers, and custom setups.

The Cube can be integrated with compatible:

  • Arcade cabinets
  • PC power-button connections
  • Fight sticks
  • Gaming setups
  • Custom projects

So the same INSERT COIN button that looks great sitting on your desk can also become a working control in your build.

An external button cable and mounting kit are sold separately. COMING SOON.

Make It Sound Like You

An arcade collectible should have arcade sounds.

But it doesn't have to.

Gen 2 comes with 15 pre-loaded arcade sounds, giving you plenty to play with right out of the box.

Then you can make it your own.

Through the web app, add your own audio and turn that familiar arcade button into something completely personal.

  • Upload a voice recording.
  • Add an inside joke.
  • Use a sound effect.
  • Add a clip from a song.
  • Make something ridiculous that only you and your friends understand.
  • Or keep it completely classic with the included arcade sounds.

The front INSERT COIN button can use multiple sounds, while the coin slot can have its own assigned sound.

It may look like an arcade button. What comes out of it is up to you.

Customize It From Your Browser

Gen 2 has plenty going on inside, but customizing it doesn't need to feel complicated.

Connect the Cube to a computer through USB and open the browser-based web app.

There's no traditional software package to install and no special driver required.

From there, you can customize supported settings and advanced features, including your sounds and control configuration.

Connect. Customize. Save.

Then get back to pressing the button.

Yes, It's Also a Tiny Piggy Bank

Because sometimes a feature doesn't need a serious purpose.

Install the included piggy bank plug and the working coin chute can hold up to five included arcade tokens or standard U.S. quarters.

Enable Tiny Piggy Bank Mode and the Cube can stay asleep until a coin is inserted.

Drop one in, and the Cube comes to life.

Did an interactive arcade collectible need a tiny piggy bank mode?

Probably not.

We thought it was fun anyway.

Built for the Desk, Shelf, Game Room and Beyond

Not everyone needs their desk collectible to control an arcade cabinet.

And that's kind of the point.

The Insert Coin Cube Gen 2 doesn't need its advanced features to justify existing.

Sometimes you want something on your desk because it makes you smile. Sometimes hearing an old arcade sound takes you back for a second. Sometimes someone walking past your desk notices it, presses the button, and suddenly you're talking about the arcade you both went to as kids.

It's a collectible decoration first.

But for arcade builders, gamers, PC users, and people who simply like making things do interesting things, there's a lot more hiding inside.

More Than an Arcade Button

  • Use it as an interactive desk collectible.
  • Make it your push-to-talk button.
  • Drop a coin to add another credit to your emulator.
  • Give it your own sounds.
  • Integrate it into an arcade build.
  • Turn it into a control for your gaming setup.
  • Or put it on your shelf, press it occasionally, and enjoy the little hit of nostalgia.

There isn't one right way to use it.

The TinyBrights Insert Coin Cube Gen 2 was designed to be displayed, interacted with, customized, and most importantly enjoyed.
